Welcome

The late Stanley and Emily Davies left their house and grounds to the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) in order that they might provide housing for older members of the Society and others in need of such accommodation. Gatesbield Quaker Housing Association was established to fulfil these aims.  Gatesbield Quaker Housing Association Ltd is a Registered Society under the Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014 formerly known as an Industrial & Provident Society (registration number 22990R). It is treated as a charity by HMRC (Exempt No. EW21479).

Gatesbield House and grounds are situated in some two acres of secluded gardens near to the centre of Windermere village, within walking distance of shops and buses, and about half a mile from the railway station.

The Association offers rented, sheltered and extra care accommodation for couples and single people aged 55 or over. No connection with the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) is necessary.

Gatesbield has an experienced and enthusiastic team including: the Scheme Manager, a team of Assistant and Relief Wardens, a Tenant Support worker, a Cook, an Administrative contractor and a Maintenance contractor. We also provide overnight emergency response by our own on-call staff team.
